CMA Songwriters Series Hosts Performance During Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival

Lineup Featured Larry Gatlin, Terry McBride, Aaron Tippin and Charlie Worsham

The Country Music Association’s critically acclaimed CMA Songwriters Series returned to Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival Tuesday evening at Nashville’s Station Inn, featuring performances by Larry Gatlin, Terry McBride, Aaron Tippin and Charlie Worsham.

The songwriters performed a wide range of songs they’ve penned, including Gatlin’s “Try to Win a Friend,” originally recorded by Dottie West and later recorded by Barbra Streisand, while McBride performed songs he’s written for himself as well as two recorded by Brooks & Dunn, “Cowgirls Don’t Cry” and “Play Something Country.” Tippin played some of his most well known songs including “Kiss This” and “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong with the Radio,” and Worsham brought the room to laughter with a brand new song he co-wrote called “Just The Tippin,” a hilarious parody about being on a date and needing to find the perfect playlist so he’s “airin’ on the side of Tippin.” The show was the first time Worsham met and performed with Tippin. See below for the full setlist.

Larry Gatlin:
“I’ve Done Enough Dying Today” (recorded by both Lorrie Morgan and Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers)
