SUPPORTING MUSIC EDUCATION

The Country Music Association is committed to serving the Country Music industry at large. Part of that responsibility is supporting the foundation of our genre — the songwriters.

In 2005, CMA developed what is now widely known as CMA Songwriters Series, a powerful showcase of shows where songwriters take the stage to give fans an intimate look into the stories behind their lyrics. This one-of-a-kind experience allows fans to connect deeper to the songs they already love so much, witness the evolution and journey of a song, and spotlight the brilliant writers behind some of Country Music’s biggest hits. Each year, CMA hosts a Songwriters Series in a number of different cities.

At CMA, we believe in community. Our Country Music community is responsible for the generous giving that drives CMA’s nonprofit arm, the CMA Foundation, as they work to reinvigorate communities across the country through the power of music education. In 2018, CMA began a social impact initiative to combine the incredible resources of the CMA Foundation, with the reach of the Songwriters Series to create a community activation that is positively impacting entire school communities.

As the CMA Songwriters Series hits the road each year, the CMA Foundation leads workshops, funds investments and creates opportunities for the next generation of songwriters to learn from the best and brightest our genre has to offer.
