CMA Songwriters Series Presented By U.S. Bank To Visit Wichita, KS On Tuesday, Feb 20

The Country Music Association’s critically acclaimed CMA Songwriters Series presented by U.S. Bank visits Wichita, Kansas Tuesday, Feb. 20 with a performance at Crown Uptown Theatre from 7:00-9:00 PM. Hosted by Sterling, Kansas-born Nicolle Galyon, the evening will feature intimate storytelling and performances from Country Music singers/songwriters Danielle Bradbery, Galyon, RaeLynn and Emily Weisband. Currently in its 14th season, CMA Songwriters Series presented by U.S. Bank has hosted more than 100 performances in 17 cities including Austin, Belfast, Chicago, Dublin, London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Phoenix, Toronto and Washington, D.C. at the renowned Library of Congress and John F. Kennedy Center. Artists and songwriters who have participated in the series include Jessi Alexander, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Brandy Clark, Tom Douglas, Brett Eldredge, Miranda Lambert, Hilary Lindsey, Little Big Town, Shane McAnally, Lori McKenna, Kacey Musgraves, Tim Nichols, Liz Rose, Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood, Craig Wiseman, Chris Young, and more.

The four songwriters will partner with the CMA Foundation while in Kansas, visiting area schools including Galyon’s alma mater, Sterling High School. Established in 2011 as the philanthropic arm of CMA, the CMA Foundation is committed to improving and sustaining music education programs across the United States, working to ensure every child has the opportunity to participate in music. Through strategic partnerships, professional development and grant distribution, the CMA Foundation has invested over $20 million in 84 programs across the national public school system, after school programs, summer camps and with community outreach organizations.

Sterling, Kansas-born singer/songwriter Galyon moved to Nashville in 2002 and signed her first publishing deal with Warner/Chappell in 2007. Galyon celebrated her first No. 1 with “We Were Us,” recorded by Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert. She also earned a No. 1 with “Automatic,” co-written and performed by Lambert and featured as the lead single on Lambert’s album Platinum, which included five songs written by Galyon. “Automatic” went on to win an ACM Award for Song of the Year and was nominated for multiple CMA Awards and GRAMMYs. Galyon’s third No. 1 came with “All the Pretty Girls,” recorded by Kenny Chesney. She has written songs recorded by Lauren Alaina, Bradbery, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Lucy Hale, Josh Kelley, Jana Kramer, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Point of Grace, RaeLynn and Thomas Rhett, to name a few. Galyon stepped out as a producer for the first time in 2017, earning a No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with RaeLynn’s WildHorse, which was co-produced with Jimmy Robbins.

Bradbery knows how you remember her. And she doesn’t blame you. There she was, in 2013, a spry, bubbly and vivacious 16-year-old Texan, plucked from her normal life and placed on NBC’s “The Voice” stage. A member of Blake Shelton’s team, Bradbery cruised through the TV-singing competition on the strength of her stunning, mature-beyond-her-years performances of traditional Country songs, releasing a Top 5 self-titled debut album with songs of similar variety later that year. But the now 21-year-old is a decidedly new woman, more refined and ready to share all of herself. It’s precisely why Bradbery took nearly three years to rediscover her musical passion, investigate her sonic influences and best understand where she stands as both a woman and evolving artist. It’s why she titled her newest album I Don’t Believe We’ve Met, which was released in December via BMLG Records and features “Sway,” a feel-good doo-wop flavored single co-written with Weisband and Johan Fransson.

Recently named a “Best Country Album of 2017” by UPROXX, Stereogumand Rolling Stone, RaeLynn released her Warner Bros./Warner Music Nashville No. 1 debut album WildHorse earlier this year to substantial critical acclaim. Lead single “Love Triangle” tells her personal story in a way that “is a raw and emotional account of what it’s like to be the child of divorced parents” (People), which media and fans immediately gravitated to. The remainder of the 12-track album, 11 of which were co-written by RaeLynn herself, is a broader look in to her life over the past few years since her breakthrough on NBC’s hit show, The Voice. Selected as a 2017 “Country Artist to Watch” by Pandora, Napster and Billboard and a CMT Next Women of Country inductee, RaeLynn has tallied 195 million plus cumulative career streams. The breakout star has earned numerous award nominations from the ACM’s, Radio Disney and CMT. She has performed on several national TV shows including “TODAY,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and is the first Country artist to partner with Too Faced Cosmetics as the face of their RaeLynn-inspired “Life’s A Festival” collection launching Feb. 15.

Born in Virginia, Weisband moved to Nashville to pursue a career in songwriting and has since proven to be a driving force. After majoring in Songwriting at Belmont University, she signed her first publishing deal with THiS Music/Warner Chappell in early 2014. Weisband has penned songs for artists including Bradbery, Camila Cabello, Billy Currington, Selena Gomez, Faith Hill, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, P!nk, Thomas Rhett, Darius Rucker, Urban and more. She recently scored her first GRAMMY award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “Thy Will,” recorded by Hillary Scott & the Scott Family and written by Weisband alongside Bernie Herms and Hillary Scott.
